Cabdicasiis Xasan Maxamed (Laftagareen), who was forcibly removed from the city of Baydhabo, has reiterated that he is still the legitimate President of the South West State administration.

In a statement he issued, Lafta-gareen announced that he has not stepped down from the presidency of South West State, denying that he has joined any of the political parties in Somalia that have been discussed in recent days.

The President of the South West State of Somalia, Mr. Cabdicasiis Xasan Maxamed (Laftagareen), strongly denies the rumors being spread on social media and some media outlets claiming that the President has joined political organizations in Somalia.

The President clarifies that there is no official connection or membership he has with any specific political organization, and that he is still fully focused on fulfilling the constitutional duties assigned to him and serving the people of South West State and the Somali nation as a whole.

Additionally, the President fundamentally believes in the importance of cooperation to ensure peace, stability, reconciliation, and development in the country, while upholding the constitution, the unity of the Somali people, and national cohesion.

Finally, the President calls on the Somali people and the media to be cautious in spreading unverified news, and to obtain accurate information from the official agencies of the South West State Government.
