Puntland Arrests a Foreign Member of ISIS

The police forces of Ufeyn district in Bari region arrested a foreign man from Yemen yesterday, who was a member of the ISIS group hiding in the Calmiskaad mountains.

This man, identified as Mukhtaar Cali Naasir, was arrested in an area called Afcad within Ufeyn district, and before his arrest, he was accompanied by two other men who were searching for donkeys, according to the spokesperson for the Calmiskaad operation, Gen. Maxamuud Maxamed Axmed (Faadhigo).

The man and the two others who were not arrested are said to have come from the Shakaala area, where the ISIS group has a base, and they had been traveling for three days.

Puntland has this year showcased foreign detainees linked to ISIS captured during the Calmiskaad operation, who have not yet been brought to court.

The number of foreign detainees reached fifty, half of whom are from neighboring Ethiopia. Morocco ranks second on the list, with nearly ten members from that country, while Yemen and Tanzania are in the next positions.

In Europe, Turkey has two members from that country, and in the Gulf countries, there is one member from Saudi Arabia.
