The federal government of Somalia has for the first time acknowledged that the country is in a transitional phase, and there is a need for military power and suppression against anyone wishing to make a move.

The Minister of Defense of the federal government of Somalia, Ahmed Macalin Fiqi, stated that the country is in a transitional period and that during these times, the number of thieves increases, and they will use power and suppression against those individuals.

On the other hand, the Minister stated that the opposition parties in Mogadishu are allowed to speak at the Aljazeera hotel, however, no further movements will be accepted.

“During transitional periods like these, many thieves disrupt the public, and we will suppress them, and we allow the opposition to speak at Hotel Jazeera where they can address the people.”
