MOGADISHU, Somalia — Hirshabelle State President Ali Abdullahi Hussein, known as Ali Gudlawe, met British Ambassador to Somalia Charles King in Mogadishu to discuss development support and projects in the state.
The meeting, also attended by UK Development Head Chris Pycroft and Political Affairs Head Chris Barker, focused on continuing British assistance to Hirshabelle and implementing the planned Sabbuun dam project, known as JOSP.
Gudlawe thanked Britain for its support for development projects in Hirshabelle, including the construction of the state presidential palace and parliamentary headquarters, which he said were nearing completion.
“We are committed to pursuing every possible avenue to implement projects that benefit our communities. I thank the British government for its continued support to Hirshabelle,” Gudlawe said.
Britain is among Somalia’s major international development partners, supporting infrastructure projects and efforts to strengthen public services.
