Deni: There is no tax increase at the port of Bosaso

The President of Puntland, Said Abdullahi Deni, held a press conference today in Garowe where he discussed the fees increased at the port of Bosaso, which have been complained about by traders.

President Deni stated that there is no tax that the government has increased, but there are fees being charged to ships docking at the sides of the port, which have been introduced by the company managing the port.

President Deni emphasized that it is necessary to pay these fees, noting that they have been in place for seven years for the traders of Puntland.

The President of Puntland pointed out that currently, one hundred percent of the port of Bosaso is not closed, from which livestock are exported and fuel is imported.

The President mentioned that improvements have been made at the port of Bosaso, indicating that the sides have been expanded, and the channel through which ships and boats pass has been dug.
