Mogadishu (Caasimada Online) – The Federal Government of Somalia has shown strong support for the government of Kuwait, which has once again faced missile attacks from Iran, which is still targeting the close allies of the United States.

A statement from the Somali Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed full solidarity with the government of Kuwait after its territory was targeted by unmanned aerial vehicles that carried out missile attacks.

Somalia has strongly condemned this attack, stating that this act poses a danger to the peace and stability of all Gulf countries.

“The Federal Republic of Somalia strongly condemns these attacks and reaffirms its unwavering support for the independence, security, stability, and territorial integrity of the Government of Kuwait. These acts threaten the peace and security of the region and contradict the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter,” the statement said.

Additionally, the Somali government called for restraint among countries and urged that a diplomatic solution be sought through dialogue and calm to prevent the continuation of such attacks.

“The Federal Republic of Somalia fully stands with the Government and people of Kuwait, calling for restraint, dialogue, and a diplomatic solution to prevent further deterioration of the situation and to maintain peace, security, and stability in the Gulf region,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added.

Days earlier, the Somali government similarly condemned drone attacks targeting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which were intercepted and destroyed after entering its airspace.

The Federal Republic of Somalia also emphasized at that time that attacks targeting the security of governments and critical infrastructure undermine the collective stability of the region and pose a risk to the escalating tensions in the region involving unmanned aerial vehicles, with the latest being the missiles targeting Kuwait.
