The Somali Foreign Minister Holds Talks with His Egyptian Counterpart

Mogadishu – The Somali Foreign Minister, Abdisalaan Abdic Ali, praised the continuous support that the Egyptian government has provided to Somalia, which includes political, developmental, and security aspects, during a phone call with his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdelatty.

According to a statement from the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Badr reaffirmed Egypt's full support for the Federal Republic of Somalia and its national institutions, noting that Cairo is closely monitoring the current developments in the country, particularly in the capital, Mogadishu.

He emphasized the importance of maintaining security and stability in Somalia and reiterated Egypt's commitment to supporting the country's efforts to achieve peace and strengthen government institutions.

Additionally, the Egyptian Foreign Minister reaffirmed his country's support for the unity, independence, and sovereignty of Somalia, expressing that Cairo firmly opposes any unilateral actions that could undermine Somalia's sovereignty or threaten the unity of its territory.

For his part, the Somali Foreign Minister, Abdisalaan Abdic Ali, commended the position of the Egyptian government in supporting Somalia's unity. He confirmed that the Federal Government is committed to continuing close cooperation and ongoing consultations with Egypt, particularly on issues that concern the interests of both sides.

The phone conversation between the two ministers came at a time when various efforts are underway in the region to support the stability of Somalia and strengthen the cooperation between the two countries in political and security matters.
