The Vice President of the Puntland Government, Ilyaas Cismaan Lugatoor, chaired an important meeting attended by members of the High Committee of the Puntland Development Fund (Puntland Development Fund – PDF).

The meeting was attended by members of the government councils who are part of the High Committee of the PDF, representing various agencies of the Puntland government. Also present at the meeting was the Head of International Cooperation of the Government of Switzerland in the Horn of Africa, Martina Durrer, along with members of the government council and civil society in Puntland.

During the meeting, significant focus was placed on accelerating the construction and completion of the structural framework of this development fund, which is essential for financing important projects in Puntland.

The parties discussed the current status of the construction of the Puntland Development Fund and the remaining steps to complete it, agreeing that the PDF will play a major role in financing projects related to economic infrastructure, social services, water, health, education, and the development of public administration.

The Puntland Development Fund (PDF) is considered one of the most important tools for unifying the development support that Puntland receives from international partners, including the Government of Switzerland, which is one of the countries closely working with Puntland to support the establishment of institutions and the development of social services.
