Airstrike Kills Four People on a Boat off the Coast of Nugaal Region

Four people on a boat were killed in an airstrike off the coast of Garmaal in the Nugaal Region, where Somali groups are holding cargo ships, local residents reported. The four individuals, who were Somali youth, died when they were hit by an airstrike from international ships patrolling the sea, while they were heading towards the ships known as M/V Lutuf & Sward.

Piracy targeting ships and demanding large ransoms has recently increased along the eastern coasts of Somalia, during the ongoing Middle Eastern crisis, as the countries owning the ships, mostly from Asia, have not paid ransoms.
