Tuesday 8 Sep 2026,{HMC} The Federal Republic of Somalia condemns in the strongest possible terms the attacks carried out by the Houthi militia against civilian and economic sites in the southern regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which Saudi authorities report have injured dozens of civilians, including women and children.
The deliberate targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure is a grave violation of international law and a dangerous escalation that threatens the security of the Red Sea and the Horn of Africa.
As a littoral State, Somalia views with serious concern the continued targeting of commercial vessels and the threat to freedom of navigation, and calls for an immediate cessation of all attacks and for a renewed commitment to a political settlement in Yemen.
The Federal Republic of Somalia stands in full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership and its people, and wishes the injured a swift and full recovery.
