The Electoral Commission Provides Details on the Elections in Galmudug and Hirshabeelle

The Chairman of the National Independent Electoral Commission, Abdikarim Ahmed Hassan, stated that the elections have smoothly commenced in 10 districts of Hirshabelle and 11 districts of Galmudug .

The citizens living in the 11 districts of Galmudug have this morning headed to the polling stations, where they are casting their votes to elect representatives for their regions.

This one-person, one-vote election is crucial for the electoral process in the country, as for the first time in a long period, citizens in some regions are directly participating in the election of their representatives.

The polling stations are witnessing movement and queues of citizens, while security agencies and electoral committees have taken measures to ensure that the voting process occurs peacefully and smoothly.
