Operation in Hiiraan results in the death of 25 members of the Khawarij, and four leaders surrender to the SNA

The Somali National Army, in collaboration with international partners, carried out an airstrike last night targeting positions established by the Khawarij in the Suullaay area, approximately 17 kilometers south of the Teedaan area in Hiiraan region. The operation resulted in the death of 25 members of the Khawarij, while 18 others were injured. Additionally, four members of the Khawarij group Al-Shabaab surrendered to the Somali National Army.

These members are:

• Aadan Maxamed Jimcaale, known as Cabaas.

• Ibraahin Aadan Daahir

• Aadan Abshir Cabdi and • Nuurow Caawid Cali, known as Amiir.

Other members of the group also fled the scene, abandoning their weapons after encountering heavy losses.

This operation is part of the ongoing campaign by the Somali National Army and international partners to weaken the power of the Khawarij Al-Shabaab, while pursuing and eliminating remnants of the group to ensure the security and stability of the country.

The Ministry of Defense has thanked international partners for their cooperation in the fight against terrorism in Somalia, and reiterated that the Somali National Army will continue operations to pursue and eliminate the Khawarij, following the orders of the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia to eradicate terrorism.
