Jubaland Reinforces Frontline Forces as Campaign Against Al-Shabaab Enters New Phase

Kismayo (WDN)— The Jubaland administration has strengthened its military posture in Lower Jubba, deploying additional troops to frontline positions as part of an intensified campaign aimed at dismantling Al-Shabaab’s remaining strongholds in southern Somalia.

The latest deployment underscores Jubaland’s determination to expand security operations across the region and reflects the administration’s growing confidence in its military capabilities after years of sustained counterinsurgency efforts.

The reinforcements are expected to bolster units already operating in Lower Jubba, including Jubaland’s Darawish forces and elements of the Federal Government’s Danab Special Forces. Together, the forces have been engaged in military preparations and coordinated operations designed to increase pressure on Al-Shabaab across the region.

Before departing for the frontlines, the newly deployed troops received operational briefings and strategic guidance from senior military commanders and Jubaland’s Minister of Internal Security, Major General Yusuf Hussein Osman “Dhuumaal.” Officials urged the forces to demonstrate discipline, unity, courage, and vigilance as they join ongoing operations against the militant group.
