Nairobi (WDN) – Kenya’s Anti-Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU) has reportedly leveled a series of serious allegations against Somalia’s Second Deputy Prime Minister, Jibril Abdirashid Haji Abdi, following his recent denial of entry into Kenya and return to Somalia.
According to reports circulating in Kenyan media, the ATPU described the senior Somali official as a potential security risk and alleged that he was linked to activities that threatened stability along the Kenya–Somalia border.
The reported allegations claim that Jibril was involved in incidents that undermined security in border communities and accuse him of facilitating the movement of armed groups into the region. Kenyan authorities further allege that those groups contributed to instability in areas bordering the two countries.
The reports also claim that Kenyan investigators questioned the legitimacy of the Deputy Prime Minister’s acquisition of a Kenyan passport , alleging that it may have been obtained unlawfully.
