Laftagareen Claims His Forces Successfully Conducted Operations in Baydhabo

Baydhabo – The office of the former president of South West Somalia, Abdikasiis Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen, has stated that the South West militia forces carried out an operation in the city of Baydhabo, which he described as one aimed at ensuring security and restoring stability and order in the city.

A press release from Laftagareen's office stated that the operation targeted forces he referred to as “Salbalaar and Afbalaar,” whom he accused of having aggressively attacked the regions of South West, particularly the city of Baydhabo.

The statement also mentioned that during the operation, significant losses were inflicted on those forces, although no further details were provided regarding the number of casualties or the condition of the forces that were targeted in the operation.

Laftagareen's office also strongly condemned what it described as airstrikes carried out in the city of Baydhabo, stating that six missiles were fired at locations where civilians were present.

The statement leveled serious accusations against the President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, describing the airstrikes and military operation in Baydhabo as part of efforts to undermine the South West administration. Additionally, Laftagareen's office stated that the airstrikes were carried out using warplanes that he claimed belong to the Turkish government, and that they resulted in deaths, injuries, and destruction affecting civilians and their property.

The office of the former president also praised the South West militia forces, stating that they protected civilians during the operation and demonstrated efforts towards defending the people and ensuring security.

The statement also praised the people of South West, thanking them for the support they showed to the Darawiish forces during the operations. Finally, Laftagareen's office stated that the South West administration is committed to protecting the lives and dignity of the people, defending the statehood, and safeguarding the constitutional institutions of the administration.
