The Banaadir Regional Administration and Police Discuss the Protest Announced by the Opposition

Jun 03(Jowhar)-Deputy Chairman of Security and Politics of Banaadir Region Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Diiriye (Yabooh) stated that the Banaadir Regional Administration has approved the protest and designated three locations for it to take place.

Chairman Yabooh denied that the government opposes the holding of protests and emphasized that former leaders deserve respect.

“Protests with weapons are not allowed, it is chaos, we tell the community not to be pushed back.” he said.

On the other hand, the Banaadir Regional Police Command issued a press release warning the residents of Mogadishu that armed protests, violent acts, and any gatherings that could threaten the security and stability of the capital will not be allowed.

The police stated that on Thursday, security in the city will be tightened, and security agencies will closely monitor any movements that may affect the overall security of Mogadishu.

The opposition to the federal government is making final preparations for the protest scheduled to take place on the 4th of this month, which is tomorrow.

The former president of the country, Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, has moved to the Abdulkadir district while the former prime minister, Hassan Ali Khaire, has settled in the Howlwadaag district.
