The Body of the Late Imam Mohamed Yusuf to be Buried in Ceel-Cirfiid

Today, the body of the late Imam Mohamed Yusuf, the Imam of the Mudulood Hiraab community, is set to be buried in Ceel-Cirfiid, on the outskirts of Mogadishu, where his predecessor, Imam Mahmoud, was previously buried.

The deceased passed away in India while receiving medical care, and the funeral prayer will be held at the Islamic Cooperation Mosque in Mogadishu, with the participation of senior government officials, scholars, elders, and a large number of family members, relatives, and the public.

The advisor to the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Ambassador Salad Ali Jelle, spoke about the history and the effective role the deceased played in the reconciliation of the community, peacebuilding, and the rebuilding of governance.

Additionally, Imam Dahir Imam Mahmoud and Ugaas Mahmoud Ali Ugaas spoke about the life, struggles, and services the deceased provided to the Somali community.

The late Imam Mohamed Yusuf was among the well-known cultural leaders recognized for mediating between clans, promoting community peace, and finding solutions to internal conflicts, especially during the difficult period following the collapse of the central government of Somalia in 1991.
