Puntland Bans Federal Government Officials and Non-Puntland Forces

Garoowe – The Ministry of Security and DDR of Puntland has issued a press release announcing new decisions related to security, combating trafficking, and the movement of officials and forces in Puntland regions.

These decisions came from a meeting held by the Puntland Security Committee and the collaborating ministries, stating that security and order in Puntland regions are being strengthened.

The press release banned the use of technical vehicles operated by illegal militias in Puntland regions, with security forces instructed to take action against anyone violating this order.

Additionally, Puntland has prohibited the recruitment of militia forces in its regions, stating that legal action will be taken against anyone involved in organizing or recruiting militias.

Another point in the press release stated that officials and officers of the Federal Government of Somalia wishing to operate or conduct activities in Puntland must first go through a legal process in accordance with Puntland regulations.

Puntland also announced a war against trafficking, with an order issued to close locations and offices suspected of being involved in human trafficking. Legal actions will be taken against those who traffic people and those who facilitate trafficking.

The press release also banned meetings deemed harmful to the security and stability of Puntland, emphasizing that anyone violating these orders will be pursued legally.

Finally, Puntland warned the Federal Government of Somalia against what it described as illegal weapons and forces being sent to its regions, stating that strict actions will be taken against anyone involved in such activities.
