PM Xamza concludes training for new troops in Ballidoogle + Photos

Mogadishu (Caasimada Online) – The Prime Minister of Somalia, Mr. Hamza Abdi Barre, accompanied by the Minister of Defense, Mr. Ahmed Macallin Fiqi and the Commander of the Somali National Army, Major General Ibrahim Mohamed Mahmoud, today concluded training for the 12th batch of the 16th Brigade of the Somali National Army Commandos, Danab.

The training closing ceremony was held at the Military Training School in Ballidoogle in the Lower Shabelle region, named after the martyr Lieutenant Colonel Hassan Tuure, and was attended by some military commanders, the instructors who provided the training, and officials from the Somali National Army.

The Prime Minister of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, speaking at the event urged the troops to take a visible role in efforts to ensure security and restore stability in the country. He stated that specially trained forces are the backbone of operations aimed at eliminating terrorist groups and those posing challenges to the governance of Somalia.

He also instructed the troops to uphold the unity of the country, the law, and the dignity of the Somali people, noting that success in the fight is dependent on the coordination of government agencies, the military, and the public.

For his part, the Minister of Defense, Mr. Ahmed Macallin Fiqi, congratulated the troops on completing the training, stating that a soldier is not only someone who goes to battle but is also a responsible individual tasked with protecting the nation and the people.

Fiqi also urged the troops to adhere to military ethics and regulations, and to demonstrate loyalty, vigilance, and responsibility while fulfilling their duties. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining the honor and reputation of the Somali National Army.

The Commander of the Somali National Army, Major General Ibrahim Mohamed Mahmoud, also stated that the focus is on enhancing the quality of the army, particularly in training and developing the skills of specialized forces.

Major General Ibrahim Mohamed added that the 12th batch of Danab has received training that enables them to carry out heavy military duties, encouraging the troops to translate the knowledge and skills they have acquired into capability and visible performance in service of the country.

The event also showcased the skills and knowledge the troops have gained during the training period, demonstrating the level of military proficiency they have achieved and their readiness to participate in operations aimed at eliminating terrorist groups and those opposing the Somali government.
