Italian Business Delegation Arrives in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU – The Minister of Trade and Industry of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Jamaal Maxamed Xasan, welcomed a high-level delegation of businessmen and investors from Italy at Aden Adde International Airport.

The reception of the delegation was attended by Somali businessmen and other government officials, with this visit being described as important for strengthening trade relations and economic cooperation between Somalia and Italy.

This delegation came to Somalia to participate in the Somalia–Italy Business Week 2026, which is a business platform for bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, and economic institutions from both countries to create new investment and cooperation opportunities.

This event is jointly organized by the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Somalia, IBS Bank, PollLink Group, and the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Somalia in Italy.

Officials expressed hope that these meetings would lead to new cooperation in trade, industry, investment, and economic development, which could contribute to business growth and the creation of new job opportunities.

The visit of the Italian delegation reflects the growing interest of international investors in Somalia, as the country is engaged in efforts to promote trade, investment, and the reconstruction of the national economy.
