Xasan Sheekh receives credentials from new ambassador

Mogadishu (Caasimada Online) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today received the credentials of the new Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Somalia, Mr. Salim bin Habib Al Umairi, following a ceremony held at the National Presidential Palace.

President Hassan Sheikh first listened to the ambassador's report on his plans and the priority he gives to strengthening the relationship and cooperation between Somalia and the Sultanate of Oman.

Additionally, the new ambassador conveyed greetings and a message from the Sultan of the Sultanate of Oman, Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, expressing how the leadership and people of Oman are interested in strengthening the longstanding relationship between the two countries.

He also pledged to work closely with the Federal Government institutions while carrying out the diplomatic duties assigned to him.

For his part, President Hassan Sheikh thanked the Sultan for supporting the Somali people, while also wishing the new ambassador success in fulfilling his diplomatic duties and enhancing the fraternal relationship and cooperation between Somalia and Oman.

Hassan Sheikh also highlighted the importance of cooperation in the areas of politics, economy, development, security, and social issues, which are part of the relationship between Somalia and countries around the world.

The ceremony, which was held with high honors at the National Presidential Palace, was attended by units of the Somali National Army who honored the new Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Somalia, Mr. Salim bin Habib Al Umairi, with a salute.

Regardless, Somalia has recently been making efforts to expand its diplomatic relations and cooperation with countries around the world, focusing on promoting national interests and enhancing Somalia's role in international forums.
