A verdict has been issued in the case of the General of the Police who was killed in his home

Jamaal Xasan Cabdulle and Mustaf Xuseen Guure “Kaamil” have been arrested for the murder of the former head of the police communications and technology, Senior Colonel Salaad Maxamed Guuleed, who was killed in his home on the 2nd of June in the year 2026.

The first suspect, Jamaal Xasan Cabdulle, was the personal guard of the General, and he was the son he raised until he became a soldier, having registered with the Somali police after training, and he was transferred to the police communications department when the General was the commanding officer, receiving a salary of two hundred and a bonus of five hundred, which was paid to the suspect until the death of the Commander.

A dispute regarding the theft of an AK47 rifle that belonged to the deceased, which the suspect was holding as a guard, began, but the rifle was purchased by Jamaal, who placed the sale money on 1Xbet, which led to Jamaal being informed to return home without carrying the government’s rifle.

On the 2nd of June in the year 2026, Jamaal, who was not known to have returned home late, eventually came back and ultimately committed the act of killing Senior Colonel Salaad Maxamed Guuleed, after firing three rounds from an AK47 that struck him in the back and hand.

No assistance was provided to the deceased, and it was further aggravated that he wiped away blood and evidence traces to mislead the investigation, using a cloth and a towel that belonged to the deceased to clean up, and he also disposed of the shell casings outside the front of the house as seen by the CCTV camera installed at the deceased's home.

The second accused Mustaf Xuseen Guure “Kaamil” an IT engineer residing in Qorbe and using fake military IDs & ranks, was also a friend of Colonel Salaad Maxamed Guuleed since 2019, as they had a friendship based on scientific & technical work, and that relationship reached the point where they lived together in one house.

Mustaf Kaamil has been specifically accused of aiding and abetting the first accused Jamaal, concealing the crime and failing to provide assistance while he was inside for 12 minutes after the murder, and also confirmed that there was no one outside, misleading the arriving officers with false information.

After a lengthy investigation, the Office of the Military Prosecutor requested the case to be taken up, and it was approved on the 9th of this October 2026.

The Military Court, having given sufficient time to the parties in the case, finally today, on the 22nd of October 2026, issued a decision on this case.
