100 Soldiers from Jubaland Security Forces Complete Training in Kismayo

KISMAAYO – The Minister of Security of Jubaland, S/Guuto Yuusuf Xuseen Cismaan, and the Commander of the 2nd Division of AUSSOM, Brigadier Edward Banda, participated in a ceremony in Kismayo to conclude the training completed by 100 soldiers from the Jubaland Security Forces (JSF).

The training, which lasted for four weeks, was held at the Operational Base of Kismayo New Airport, where the soldiers were taught essential skills including weapon management, explosive device (IED) prevention, combat tactics, military fitness, and first aid in combat zones.

Officials speaking at the event emphasized that strengthening the security forces is crucial for enhancing peace, stability, and security in Somalia, while improving the capacity of the forces to respond independently to existing security threats.

The Minister of Security of Jubaland, S/Guuto Yuusuf Xuseen Cismaan, congratulated the graduating soldiers, encouraging them to serve the public diligently and to utilize the knowledge and skills they acquired during the training.

For their part, AUSSOM officials stated that the training is part of efforts to enhance the quality of the Somali Security Forces, stressing the importance of the soldiers applying the knowledge they gained in security operations and protecting the public.

AUSSOM noted that it will continue to provide support through training and advising the Somali forces to build a sustainable security capacity that will be realized in the long-term future of the country.
