Beledweyne (Caasimada Online) – The Xawaadle clan has stated that they will not accept an election that is not based on a political agreement that all parties are united on, following several days of consultations in Beledweyne involving politicians and intellectuals from the clan.

The results of these meetings were discussed in the media by the former Secretary of the Banaadir regional administration, Xiirey Axmed Rooble, who stated that the consultations produced points that the Xawaadle clan is united on, which specifically relate to the elections and the political situation in the Hiiraan region.

The main position that emerged from the meetings is the rejection of an election without a political agreement. Xiirey stated that the clan will not allow an election to take place in the region without an agreement that all parties are satisfied with.

“The clan reiterates that no forced election without an agreement can take place in the Hiiraan region, its towns, districts, and villages,” said Xiirey Axmed Rooble.

He noted that this position comes from the consultations held by the politicians and intellectuals of the clan, which also reached the conclusion that peaceful protests against the planned elections in the HirShabelle administration should be held on September 24.

“The second point that emerged from the consultations is that September should be designated for peaceful protests against the election that lacks an agreement,” said Xiirey, calling on the people living in the regions, districts, and villages to organize themselves and peacefully come together to express their position.

The protests, he said, will show that the people are not in favor of an election he described as “forced and without agreement.” Additionally, it was decided to continue consultations with various segments of the community living in Beledweyne and throughout the Hiiraan region.

Xiirey stated that once the consultations are concluded, decisions he described as crucial will emerge, which could lead to the people of Hiiraan and the HirShabelle community working together to build an inclusive administration that all parties are satisfied with.

Speaking about the potential situation if a forced election is held, Xiirey stated that if such an election leads to conflict or harm to the people, the parties he accused of being responsible for the electoral process, namely the leadership of the Federal Government, will bear the responsibility for any consequences.

Finally, he thanked the people living in Jalalaqsi, Matabaan, and Jawiil, stating that they have previously shown their rejection of what he described as a one-sided election and have held protests against it.
