Abdicasiis Lafta-gareen files serious complaint against Hassan Sheikh and Jamaac

Nairobi (Caasimada Online) – The former president of South West Somalia, Mr. Abdicasiis Hassan Mohamed Lafta-gareen has filed a serious complaint to the international community, particularly the United States government, the United Nations, the European Union, the African Union, and IGAD, addressing the situation in South West.

Lafta-gareen first condemned an attack he claimed that President Hassan Sheikh and his government launched against South West, stating that they removed the legitimate administration he led, as he articulated.

Abdicasiis Lafta-gareen pointed out that the attack involved warplanes, and that airstrikes are still ongoing around the city of Baydhabo, the capital of the Bay region.

“The military attack by federal forces has been ongoing for the past six months. In the last two months, Cessna aircraft have also been used, which resulted in the deaths of civilians and livestock,” he stated in the letter from the former president of South West.

He further added, “The aircraft are stationed at the airport in Mogadishu, and they are still being used for airstrikes.”

He also mentioned the attack that occurred at the home of the former commander of the Police Forces, Mahad Abdiraxmaan Aadan in the Dooow district, stating that Turkish F-16 fighter jets were used, and that the orders were given by President Hassan Sheikh and the Speaker of Parliament Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur (Jamaac).

“Another attack that occurred in Doolow was carried out by Turkish F-16 aircraft, which were operating under the orders of former President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Speaker Jamaac, and they attacked General Mahad Abdiraxmaan, known as (General Shub),” it was reiterated in the letter. He indicated that these actions endanger civilians and undermine the rule of law and overall stability in Somalia.

Finally, he called on international partners to condemn the ‘attack on South West’ and to conduct an independent investigation to hold accountable those responsible.
