Cali Guudlaawe re-elected as the leader of Hirshabelle

Jowhar – Cali Cabdullaahi Xuseen Guudlaawe has been re-elected as the Leader of the Hirshabelle Regional Government, following an election that took place today in the city of Jowhar, where he received 81 votes.

Candidate Nuur Cilmi Calane received 13 votes, while the total number of parliamentarians who voted was 98. Four votes were invalid. The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Xasan Sheekh Maxamuud, sent congratulations to Cali Guudlaawe and the Deputy Leader of Hirshabelle, Cabdifitaax Xasan Afrax, who were also elected today in the city of Jowhar.

President Xasan Sheekh wished the new leadership success, encouraging them to perform effectively in the responsibilities assigned to them. He also emphasized the importance of accelerating efforts to achieve peace, reconciliation, state-building, and the development of community services in the Hirshabelle regions.

The President also praised the election process that led to the selection of the new leadership, stressing the importance of strengthening democracy, building state institutions, and public participation in the political process of the country.
