Mogadishu (Caasimada) – Some members of the House of the People today spoke strongly about reports indicating that funds allocated for the orphans of the Armed Forces have been reduced, after some of their families expressed concerns about this issue.

Many MPs who spoke to the media addressed this matter firmly, accusing Prime Minister Hamza and his Cabinet.

MP Mohamed Hassan Murjaan, one of the MPs addressing the rights taken from the orphans, revealed that they are advocating and are pursuing a motion against the Prime Minister, which they will present to Parliament for discussion.

“The motion we are pursuing is about the Prime Minister's failure to perform his duties; we have seen that civilian staff have now been directed to the military, and there are 6000 who have died, and their families have been affected,” said Murjaan.

Additionally, MP Mohamed Hassan Murjaan warned that they will take action against the government and will hold someone accountable for this case, as he stated.

“This matter will cost someone their position; as MPs, we will fulfill our duties,” the MP reiterated.

On his part, MP Dahir Amin Jeesow, speaking to the media, placed the main blame on Prime Minister Hamza and his Cabinet, further emphasizing the ongoing motion.

“Prime Minister Hamza and his Ministers have cut the funds allocated for the orphans of the soldiers; Parliament is being called, and if he does not come, the leadership of the council will lose its position,” said Dahir Amin Jeesow.

MP Abdullahi Carab also spoke on this matter, defending the families of the deceased soldiers and the orphaned children who are said to have had their salaries cut.

“There is no one capable of cutting that money; it is required that the money is provided, because the soldier first receives a salary and food is provided; if he dies, his family must be taken care of,” said MP Abdullahi Carab.
