The Speaker of the House of the People Launches the General Da'ud Basketball Tournament

Mogadishu, Somalia – The Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, who is also the Acting President of the Republic, Mr. Abdulqadir Mohamed Nur (Jama), participated in the final match of the General Da'ud Basketball Tournament at the Wiish Stadium, where he faced the teams Heegan and Dekadaha.

An exciting match that showcased a tough competition, attended by officials and citizens from various districts of the Banaadir Region, ultimately saw the victory go to the Dekadaha team, which won the tournament.

The Speaker of the House of the People, who is also the Acting President of the Republic, praised both teams for their excellent performance and the effort they displayed. He congratulated the Dekadaha team for winning the trophy, while also commending the Heegan team for finishing in second place.

The Speaker also highlighted the importance of sports to the community, particularly in strengthening social integration, peace, and unity, as well as raising awareness among the youth. Finally, the Speaker of the House of the People presented the trophy to the Dekadaha basketball team, while also awarding medals to the players of both teams, Dekadaha and Heegan.

The stadium was also attended by ministers, including the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Federal Government of Somalia, members of parliament, the Manager of the Port of Mogadishu, officials, sports enthusiasts, and citizens from various districts of the Banaadir Region who came to watch the match.
