The Speaker of the Puntland Parliament Warns of Political Turmoil in Somalia.

The Speaker of the Puntland Parliament, Cabdirisaaq Axmed Siciid (Qarraaje), has spoken for the first time about the political situation in Somalia and the expiration of the terms of the government institutions in Somalia, as Puntland does not recognize the changes in the country's constitution.

Speaker Qarraaje stated that for the first time since the establishment of the third republic of Somalia, the term of the government institutions has ended without a political or electoral agreement, and this situation has created political tension.

“This is the first time since the reconstruction of the third republic of Somalia that the term of government institutions has ended without reaching a political agreement, and we strongly warn that if a political solution is not urgently found, there is a great risk that could lead to state collapse,” said the Speaker of the Puntland Parliament, Cabdirisaaq Axmed Siciid.

On the other hand, the Speaker of the Puntland Parliament called on the people of Puntland to show extra vigilance and take responsibility for maintaining their unity and the unity of the Somali people.

“I urge the people of Puntland to remain calm and preserve their unity, and to show extra caution regarding the political changes occurring throughout the country and to prevent anything that undermines their unity and existence,” the Speaker reiterated.
