Guuleed Saalax sends a message to the new president of Galmudug

Politician Guuleed Saalax Barre has called on the new president of Galmudug, Liibaan Axmed Xasan, to give special priority to strengthening the relationship between Puntland & Galmudug and to the peacebuilding in the Mudug region.

Guuleed Saalax described President Liibaan as a peace elder who has long worked for peace, reconciliation, and stability in the Mudug region.

He mentioned that he is confident that his experience and peace efforts will serve as a foundation for his leadership, and that he will continue to strengthen peace, unity, and development in Galmudug.

“Galmudug and Puntland share brotherhood, neighborliness, and social interests that are indispensable. They particularly need lasting peace, mutual understanding, cooperation, and good neighborliness based on respect & brotherhood today,” said Guuleed.

“I urge President Liibaan to give special priority to strengthening the relationship between the two administrations, peacebuilding in the Mudug region, and anything that can lead to coexistence and community development,” he added.

Guuleed Saalax, a member of the National Good Governance Alliance led by former Prime Minister Saacid, is among the opposition politicians who have shown support for the new president of Galmudug.
