The National Data Protection Agency Concludes Training on the Implementation of Somalia's Data Protection Law

Mogadishu, Somalia – The Director General of the National Data Protection Agency, Mr. Mohamed Noor Colow, has concluded a five-day training session focused on the implementation of the Somalia Data Protection Law approved in 2023.

The training, which was attended by staff and stakeholders from organizations handling personal data, including government and private entities, emphasized the foundations of data privacy, principles of data protection, the importance of protecting public data, and the obligations of organizations and individuals managing data.

The Director General of the Agency, Mr. Mohamed Noor, urged participants to apply the knowledge and skills they gained from the training in their respective organizations to ensure the proper implementation of the Somalia Data Protection Law.

Additionally, the Chairman of the Somali Universities Union, Dr. Hassan Mohamed Said, the Chairman of the Somali Banks Association, Dr. Ahmed Khadar Jama, Dr. Aamina Hassan Hussein, Deputy Secretary of the National Health Professionals Council, and other leaders who attended the closing ceremony praised the efforts of the National Data Protection Agency, encouraging them to continue conducting such training sessions to ensure various stakeholders comply with the practice and implementation of the data protection law.
