The Leader of South West State Meets Senior Officials from the United Nations in Baydhabo

BAYDHABO, June 23 – The Leader of the South West State Government, Sheikh Aadan Mohamed Nur (Madoobe), met on Tuesday in Baydhabo with a senior delegation from the United Nations, focusing discussions on the political situation, state-building, and stability in the region.

The UN delegation was led by the Head of Political Affairs for the United Nations in Somalia, Vikram Parekh, and the Head of Political Affairs for the organization responsible for the South West State Government, Morgan Dube.

According to a statement from the South West administration, the meeting, which took place at the presidential palace in Baydhabo, also included the Director of the Presidency and other officials, discussing the strengthening of cooperation between the United Nations and the South West administration.

Both sides also discussed accelerating the state-building process and how to enhance overall stability in the regions of the South West administration.

The UN officials expressed their commitment to continue supporting the administration, particularly in the areas of developing government institutions, reconciliation, and implementing an inclusive political process.

For his part, Leader Sheikh Aadan Madoobe thanked the United Nations for its role in supporting Somalia, emphasizing the importance of further strengthening cooperation to achieve lasting peace, stability, and sustainable development.
