The Leader of South West State Opens the Annual Forum of Regional and District Chairpersons

Baydhabo – The Leader of the South West State Government, Mr. Sheikh Aadan Maxamed Nuur (Madoobe), officially opened the Annual Forum of Regional and District Chairpersons of the South West State Government, held in the city of Baydhabo.

The forum, attended by ministers, members of parliament, and chairpersons of regions and districts in South West State, focused on strengthening local government administration, accelerating social services, and improving cooperation between government agencies at the regional and district levels.

During the forum, security conditions were specifically discussed, analyzing how to enhance cooperation between security agencies and administrations, improve community security, and prevent security threats in the regions of South West State.

Additionally, economic issues, increasing domestic revenue, and developing basic services were debated. Participants also examined how to strengthen local governments' administrative capacity and the financial resources they need to fulfill their responsibilities towards the community.

The forum also addressed preparedness for the impacts of rainfall and floods related to El Niño, discussing plans for flood prevention and response, emergency preparedness, and how to mitigate the effects of rainfall and flooding on the population, especially those living in vulnerable areas.

The Leader of the South West State Government, Sheikh Aadan Maxamed Nuur (Madoobe), urged the regional and district chairpersons to enhance cooperation, serve the community efficiently, and prioritize security, the development of social services, and preparedness for humanitarian and natural disasters.

This annual forum also provides an opportunity for regional and district chairpersons to exchange experiences and advice related to governance, to strengthen local governance and improve the services the government provides to the people of South West State.
