Prime Minister Hamza praises security forces for ensuring the safety of the capital

Mogadishu, Saturday, September 26, 2026:— The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Hamza Abdi Barre, participated in a ceremony to thank the National Army for securing the safety of the capital and the overall safety of our country.

The event, jointly organized by the Ministry of Defense and the Command of the National Army, was attended by the Minister of Defense, the Minister of Internal Security, and the Mayor of Banadir Region, who is also the Mayor of the Capital. It was also attended by the commanders of the National Intelligence and Security Agency, the National Army, and the Somali Police Force.

Prime Minister Hamza, before the ceremony, held a meeting with the commanders and officers of the various forces in the country, where he listened to a report on the security of the capital, which indicated that 86.06% of security incidents in Mogadishu had decreased between 2023-2026 following a coordinated security plan.

The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Hamza, speaking to the officials, said, “No one should be allowed to undermine the security of the capital; everyone should be held accountable,” praising the various forces for the significant achievements in ensuring the security of the capital and the country as a whole.
