The Acting President of the FGS Issues a Peace Call Regarding the Ongoing Clan Conflict in Hiiraan Region

MOGADISHU – The Acting President of the FGS, who is also the Interim Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Ms. Sacdiya Yaasiin Xaaji Samatar has issued a peace call regarding the clan conflicts that have recently emerged in parts of the Hiiraan region, particularly the conflict among related communities in the Jalalaqsi district of Hiiraan.

“The tragic conflict that has occurred among related communities in the Jalalaqsi district of Hiiraan is a serious matter that cannot be ignored, and it cannot be silenced, as it harms peace, community unity, and the future of the local people,” said Speaker Sacdiya Yaasiin.

The Acting President, Speaker Sacdiya called on all intellectuals, traditional elders, scholars, the administration, and the Hirshabelle community to urgently work towards stopping the conflict and finding a lasting peaceful solution to the existing dispute.

“As the leadership of the House of the People, we affirm our support for any efforts to stop the bloodshed and to strengthen peace and brotherhood among the local people,” she added in her remarks as the Interim Speaker of the House of the People.

Finally, the Acting President of the country, Speaker Sacdiya Yaasiin Xaaji Samatar stated that it is essential to maintain peace and to stop anything that could lead to further conflict, emphasizing that the common good and coexistence of the community are more important than anything else.
