President Sheikh Aadan Madoobe officially takes office today

Baydhabo, June 11, 2026: Today, the newly elected leader of the South West State, Mr. Sheikh Aadan Mohamed Noor (Madoobe), officially took over the leadership of the South West Government following a handover ceremony that took place at the Presidential Palace in Baydhabo.

Mr. Sheikh Aadan Mohamed Noor (Madoobe) received the office from Mr. Jibriil Abdiraashid Xaaji Cabdi, who had been leading the South West Government temporarily for some time.

The handover ceremony was attended by officials from the Federal Government, the South West Government, representatives from government agencies, politicians, elders, and other distinguished guests.

Mr. Jibriil Abdiraashid Xaaji Cabdi handed over the documents and responsibilities of the office to the new leader, congratulating him on his election and wishing him success in fulfilling the duties assigned to him.

The newly elected leader of the South West Government, Mr. Sheikh Aadan Mohamed Noor (Madoobe), thanked the interim leader for his work and efforts during the transitional period, promising to continue the efforts to strengthen peace, development, and state-building in the South West Government.
