Egypt denies Ethiopia's accusations regarding internal interference in the country

The Egyptian government has described the accusations from Ethiopia regarding interference in its internal affairs and support for armed groups operating in northern Ethiopia as baseless.

Cairo stated that its foreign policy is based on respect for the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of states, insisting that the allegations that Egypt supports armed groups opposing the Ethiopian government are unfounded.

Egypt's response came after Ethiopia made accusations about foreign support being given to armed groups fighting in the northern part of the country.

These accusations come at a time when political and security tensions have once again resurfaced in northern Ethiopia.

Cairo reiterated its support for political solutions and respect for the sovereignty of states, stating that its foreign policy cannot be used to justify accusations of interference or support for armed groups.
