Mustafe Cagjar re-elected as President of the Somali Regional State

The President of the Somali Regional State, Mustafe Mohamed Omar (Cagjar) , has been re-elected to lead the region, allowing him to continue in the position he has held since the political change that occurred in 2018 .

Mustafe Omar came to power in the region on August 22, 2018 , following a political change in the Somali Regional State, and since then he has been the highest leader of the regional administration, having held the leadership for nearly eight years.

His new election means he will continue to lead the region at a time when the Somali Regional State is focusing on improving social services, investment, security, and infrastructure projects.

Additionally, Ibrahim Osman Farah has been re-elected as the Vice President of the Somali Regional State.

The Office of the President of the Somali Region has now officially announced that Mustafe Mohamed Omar is the President, while Ibrahim Osman is the Vice President.

Mustafe Omar has been in leadership since 2018, and previous reports have indicated that during his tenure, development projects and investments have taken place in the region, although challenges related to drought, infrastructure, and social services still exist.

Mustafe Omar's re-election makes him one of the longest-serving presidents in the region, while Ibrahim Osman Farah continues in the role of Vice President.
