Peace & Life Remove National Dignity from the Political Arena

President Farmaajo has undermined National Dignity.

Mogadishu (PP News) — Mohamed Abdiraasaq M. Abuubakar, who was once the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, stated that there is no group that provides a "certificate of opposition" and that no one can prevent President Farmaajo from playing a role in the state-building process of Somalia.

A few months ago, Peace & Life , led by former President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo, was an external party in negotiations between the Federal Government of Somalia and the Future Council of Somalia. After members of the Future Council of Somalia, including former Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire, attempted to incite "clan wars" in Mogadishu to pressure President Hassan Sheikh to accept the title given to him by the Council as "Former President".

President Hassan Sheikh's politics have marginalized the Future Council of Somalia, of which National Dignity was a member. Peace and Life did not show any support for the pressure that Khaire and President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed were exerting in Mogadishu, even claiming to represent the administrations of Jubaland and Puntland, despite both politicians viewing Mogadishu as their political playground.

Fahad Yaasiin, the founder of National Dignity, is now closely aligned with Peace & Life. The National Dignity party, led by former Prime Minister Cabdi Faarax Shirdoon (Saacid), supported organizing conflicts in Mogadishu that could pressure President Hassan Sheikh to reverse the amendments made by both houses to the Constitution of Somalia, while Peace & Life established direct contact with Villa Somalia to demonstrate their opposition to the destabilization intended for Mogadishu.

Hassan Ali Khaire is contemplating his political future after the turmoil within the Future Council of Somalia. These connections, which occurred quietly in Mogadishu, were significantly influenced by Mohamed Abdiraasaq, who set the argument that Peace & Life should support the direct election process proposed by the Federal Government of Somalia.

Mohamed Abdiraasaq has brought Peace & Life back to the political arena of Somalia. Fahad Yaasiin, who was once a political financier for Peace & Life, now leads National Dignity, which consists of "dignitaries" reconsidering whether to choose a Member after National Dignity exited the political scene of Somalia due to the political resurgence of Peace & Life.

Puntland and Jubaland's relationship with the Future Council of Somalia deteriorated after the Council members, without consulting President Said Abdullahi Deni and President Ahmed Madobe, participated in negotiations facilitated by the Turkish Government between the Federal Government of Somalia and the Future Council of Somalia. Deni and Ahmed Madobe were accused of allowing politicians without positions to use the names of Puntland and Jubaland. It seems that this time President Deni is avoiding having "his fingers burned again".
