Prime Minister Hamza Launches Somalia Tourism Exhibition

Mogadishu – The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Hamza Abdi Barre, today launched the Somalia Tourism Exhibition on the outskirts of Mogadishu, organized by the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism.

The exhibition was attended by hundreds of members of the capital's community, showcasing the opportunities and tourist sites of Somalia, as well as the overall tourism resources of the country.

Prime Minister Hamza stated that Somalia has many opportunities in tourism, which he noted could greatly contribute to economic growth and increase the country's revenue, if appropriate infrastructure, knowledgeable and skilled personnel, and the use of modern technology are provided.

Mr. Hamza Abdi Barre also praised the businesspeople and private companies that have invested in tourism, especially those working in the coastal areas, which he said are among the places with the greatest tourism opportunities in Somalia.

The Prime Minister also touched on issues of national sovereignty, unity, and independence of Somalia in his speech, discussing a letter he said a Somali politician submitted to the United Nations, which he described as unfortunate and damaging to the sovereignty and unity of the country.

“Unity is the strong pillar without which a nation cannot stand, which rises above political disputes and differing opinions that may exist at certain times. If unity is lost, it becomes a target for enemies. Our unity is a legacy passed down from generation to generation, and it has been sacrificed with life and wealth,” said Prime Minister Hamza.
