Prime Minister Xamsa Sends Congratulations to the Somali People on the Occasion of June 26

Dhuusamareeb – The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Xamsa Cabdi Barre, while in the city of Dhuusamareeb, sent congratulations and commendations regarding the occasion of June 26, the 66th anniversary, to the Somali people everywhere they are.

The Prime Minister stated that June 26 is a significant day in Somali history, as it symbolizes the long struggle for independence, unity, and the realization of the Somali people's aspiration to have a free and independent government.

Prime Minister Xamsa emphasized that it is the duty of today's generations to protect the struggle for which the heroes sacrificed their lives, which was for a united Somalia and to strengthen peace, development, and stability in our country.

“Tonight is a night of special significance in the memory of the Somali people, and it is a night we remember the heroes and fighters who sacrificed their lives so that our nation could attain freedom and dignity. We have a responsibility to uphold the unity, solidarity, and governance of our country, so that future generations can live in a peaceful, developed Somalia that realizes the aspirations for which our fathers and mothers fought,” said Prime Minister Xamsa Cabdi Barre.

Mr. Xamsa Cabdi Barre called on the Somali community to strengthen national unity, defend the country's independence, and support efforts to ensure a peaceful, stable, and developed Somalia.

Finally, Prime Minister Xamsa thanked the Leader of the Galmudug Regional Government, Mr. Axmed Cabdi Kaariye, for his good leadership, commending his role in the upcoming one-person, one-vote elections to be held in the Galmudug region.

After the event, the Prime Minister received a salute from units of the national army assigned to the flag ceremony.
