Heavy Rains Fall in Mogadishu

MUQDISHO – Heavy rains lasting for several hours have fallen in the city of Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, affecting traffic flow and general community movement.

The rain has caused significant water accumulation on some of the major roads in the city, leading to a halt in the vehicles that usually use those roads, while in some areas it has resulted in congestion and delays in movement.

Some members of the public have faced difficulties related to flooding and water accumulation on the roads, while businesses and some daily activities in the city have been affected by these rains.

The Banaadir Regional Administration has previously announced its readiness to address the impact of the rains, stating that vehicles and equipment have been prepared for the drainage of water accumulating on the important roads of the capital.

Regional officials have also urged the public to exercise caution during the rainy season, especially those using roads where water accumulates, to avoid the dangers posed by flooding and damage to infrastructure.
