The Ambassador of Somalia to South Africa Submits Credentials

PRETORIA, South Africa – The new Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to South Africa, Mr. Aadam Isaaq, today officially submitted his Credentials to the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Government of South Africa, commencing his diplomatic duties representing Somalia.

The ceremony for the submission of credentials is part of the diplomatic process for recognizing new ambassadors appointed to friendly countries.

The ambassador also handed over an official message from the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Cabdisalaan Cabdi Cali (Dhaay), to his counterpart in the Government of South Africa.

Ambassador Aadam Isaaq stated that his top priority will be to strengthen the historical relationship between Somalia and South Africa, emphasizing the importance of expanding cooperation between the two countries in the areas of economy, trade, investment, and enhancing diplomatic relations.

He also stressed that the Somali Embassy will focus on serving and defending the interests of Somali citizens living in South Africa, who play a significant role in the economy and business of the country.

The ambassador noted that the services of the embassy will be strengthened so that the Somali community can receive efficient support and diplomatic services while safeguarding their rights and interests.
