Some of the opposition politicians in Puntland have spoken in different ways about the political situation they are in, the interference of the federal government of Somalia and the actions taken by the government of Said Abdullahi Deni.

The former Minister of Finance of Puntland, Hassan Shire Abgaal, who spoke yesterday, stated that President Deni has put Puntland in a difficult situation, asserting that the federal government has the right to recruit troops in its territory without taking orders from Puntland, and he clarified that the revenue collected from Mogadishu is for the people of Garoowe.

The former Minister of Environment and the TPEC Election Agency, Guuleed Saalax Barre, also announced last night that President Hassan Sheikh does not favor the opposition and the ruling party in Puntland, but his plan is to destroy Puntland and turn it into villages inhabited by clans that are armed and in conflict with each other.

The former Minister of Education of Puntland, Ali Haji Warsame, warned everyone with political ambitions in Puntland not to be part of its troubles, calling on the opposition not to bring conflict to Puntland and urging the government to work for unity.

On their part, the former Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Interior of Somalia, Ahmed Issa Awad and Abdi Farah Siciid Juxa, called for action against anyone involved in the destruction of Puntland, criticizing the current federal system in Somalia.
