Mogadishu (HOL) — Somalia’s federal government has shut down 82,000 social media pages in 2026 that were allegedly being used by terrorist groups to spread extremist propaganda.
Speaking at an event in Mogadishu on Thursday, Abdullahi Hayir Duale, director general of the Ministry of Information, said the government is intensifying its ideological and public awareness campaign against armed groups.
