Wednesday, 16 Sep 2026 {HMC} The Federal Government of Somalia has strongly condemned an attempted drone attack targeting the holy city of Mecca, which Saudi air defense forces said they intercepted before it reached the city.
Somalia also condemned recent attacks on civilian areas in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, expressing its full solidarity with the Saudi government and people.
The Somali government reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s right to protect its territory, citizens and the Islamic holy sites.
