Somalia and India Hold New Talks

Nairobi (Caasimada Online) – The Minister of the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism of Somalia, Abdifatah Qasim Mahmoud, held a meeting in Nairobi, Kenya with the High Commissioner of India to Kenya and the Ambassador of India to Somalia, Adarsh Swaika.

The meeting discussed strengthening the cooperation between Somalia and India in the fields of information and culture, with a particular focus on how to enhance the collaboration between the two countries.

Both sides also discussed the development and enhancement of workforce skills, the transition to digital systems, and how to further strengthen the cooperation of art and culture groups.

Issues discussed in the meeting also included how to enhance the capacity of media and cultural institutions, utilizing the cooperative opportunities between Somalia and India.

Minister Abdifatah Qasim thanked the Government of India for the support and cooperation it has extended to Somalia, particularly in efforts to develop national media.

The Minister also emphasized the importance of India's support in enhancing workforce capacity and developing skills related to media and culture.

The meeting comes at a time when Somalia is undertaking efforts to improve media and cultural systems, seeking international cooperation to aid in skill enhancement and the use of modern technology.
