Somalia Joins the Executive Committee of INPDPA

Mr. Mohamed Nur Olow, the General Director of the Somali National Data Protection Agency, participated in the second meeting of the Executive Committee of the Islamic Network for Personal Data Protection Authorities (INPDPA), which took place in Istanbul, Turkey. This meeting focused on the implementation of the organization's regulations and strengthening cooperation among Islamic countries to collectively address data security challenges.

Somalia has become one of the countries in the executive committee of the new organization, which is an important step demonstrating the government's commitment to protecting citizens' data. This meeting came at a time when modern technology is bringing new threats, establishing a foundation for collaboration on information security among Islamic countries.

Mr. Olow noted that Somalia will play a significant role in advancing the organization's goals, emphasizing that data protection and citizens' rights are essential. He stated that Islamic countries share similar challenges, and cooperation is key to resolving them.

“Somalia will actively participate in the efforts of INPDPA, and it is important that we collaborate with brotherly countries to strengthen data security and protect the rights of our people,” said Mr. Mohamed Nur Olow.

He also emphasized that sharing experiences and knowledge is the only way to overcome the challenges posed by modern technology, calling for joint efforts to strengthen data protection regulations.

This second meeting discussed how to share effective experiences and how to prevent data-related attacks. Somalia, as one of the countries that joined this organization, hopes to benefit from the technical support provided by developed countries.
