BREAKING: Prime Minister Hamza Makes New Appointments + Photos

Mogadishu (Caasimada Online) - The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, has today appointed the directors general of some ministries of the Federal Government of Somalia, to expedite ongoing activities.

Hamza appointed Abdullahi Ibrahim Abdi as the director general of the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources through a decree he issued.

Additionally, Ahmed Yusuf Abdulle has also been appointed as the director general of the Ministry of Communications and Technology of the Federal Government of Somalia, as stated in the decree.

The Prime Minister based this appointment on Article 119, paragraph (D) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Somalia, and instructed the new directors to efficiently fulfill the duties assigned to them.

He also ordered them to expedite the work of the ministries assigned to them, to continue the progress being made by the Dan-Qaran government.

The Prime Minister of Somalia has recently been implementing new changes regarding his government, which is soon to celebrate its achievements, as it has completed 4 years.

This appointment comes at a sensitive time when there is a crisis between the Government and the Parliament, which arose from the decision issued by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre's office regarding filling the positions of the directors of ministries and other government agencies through a competitive process, which has completely excluded the members of the House of Representatives.

This situation has also led to a power struggle that has quickly begun between the leadership of the Parliament and the Prime Minister's office. The rivalry between the two offices is seen as rooted in the competition for power and influence in the country's politics.
