Tianjin City Merging History and Future Technology of China

Tianjin, China – Today, the city of Tianjin is recognized as one of the most important centers for economy, business, and technological innovation in China. Located in the northern part of the country and close to the capital Beijing, the city has combined the preservation of its historical heritage with the implementation of modern technology that shapes the future.

Journalists from various African countries participating in the 2026 program of the China International Press Communication Center (CIPCC) visited the city, witnessing the extensive development of Tianjin and its role in China's modernization plan.

The visit began at Ancient Culture Street, the most famous site for preserving the culture and history of the city, where buildings and monuments reflect the Ming and Qing dynasties, while the Tianhou Palace built in 1326 remains an important symbol of the city's history.

In the health sector, the delegation visited the Tasly Darentang Center, one of the oldest centers for traditional Chinese medicine. This center, with a history of over five centuries, has today combined cultural knowledge with modern research, marketing its medicines to many countries around the world. Tianjin has also become an important hub for technology and innovation.

The Binhai New Area hosts many research centers and major companies, including the Lenovo Smart Innovation Service Industrial Park, which greatly utilizes artificial intelligence (AI), big data, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things (IoT) to enhance production and logistics services.

In the industrial sector, Tianjin Atomu Robotics has showcased tangible advancements in industrial robotics, which are now used in various factories both domestically and abroad. The company has also produced a humanoid robot designed for production tasks and quality inspection.

Additionally, Deepinfar Ocean Technology has demonstrated progress in underwater technology, producing robots and modern equipment used for marine research, environmental protection, and exploration of natural resources.

One of the most impressive sites visited was the Tianjin Port, which is now among the most modern ports in the world. The port utilizes automated systems and clean energy sourced from solar and wind, making it a visible example of the integration of technology and green development.

In education, Tianjin is where the Luban Workshop project originated, an international program aimed at developing technical and technological skills. This project is currently operational in many countries, helping to prepare youth to meet the needs of modern industries.
